Growing scattered to overlapping on Quercus in mixed Oak/Birch woods.
Pileus 7 cm wide, more or less fan shaped, with some small bumps and protrusions particularly near the attachment to the substrate. Area near margin more regular, flat, with small concentric ridges. Cap surface white to off-white, finely velvety. Undersurface thin walled, at points minutely maze-like, at points looking almost poroid, colored like cap, not bruising. Flesh tough, thick, white. Spore print white. Microscopic characteristics: Spores smooth, cylindrical
