R. Sprague considers this organism a physiologic race of R. solani (see P.D. Reptr. Suppl. 163, p. 117). This organism found causing much damage in some fields in western New York counties (Tompkins, Seneca, Wyoming, Monroe, Genesee & Orleans). Disease known as eyespot, sharp eye-spot and sheath spot. According to letter from A.G. Johnson at Beltsville, Md. this disease never before reported on wheat in eastern US.
