Hey, damontighe - you sure get around! Your third photo helped a lot. In the northern hemisphere there's the nearly identical and very closely related U. lambii, restricted to volcanic peaks in the Cascades, and then a jump to alpine sites in Mexico. Like your site, it grows where almost nothing else does. If you bought a copy of Macrolichens of the Pacific Northwest, there's a good discussion on the distributions of the two species.
