host: Chrysanthemum leucanthemum
This destructive Septoria - S. Macrosporia, ns, - inhabits living leaves of ox-eye daisy - Chysanthemum leucanthemum. The pycnidia develop in indefinite areas of leaden color, opake when held to the light and are innate, thin wa'd, perforate, darker than the surrounding tissue, 90-180 mic. Sporules linear to linear- clavulate, mostly stright 0-8 septate, beaded or guttulate, 60 x 3 mic. and 120x 4 mic. , - much longer and stouter than those of S. Chrysanthemi halsted or S. Chrysanthemi cavarra. The presence of a thing pychidial wall is about the only character that separates this from Cylindrosporium chrysanthemum. Ell. & Dear.
