Fruiting on the top and side of a fallen log in oak-hickory woods. Caps are finely hairy, laterally fused; pore surface is covered with a whitish bloom; tube layer peels easily from the cap. See observation # 267244 for explanation re: the debris seen in some of the turned up caps (thumbnail image).
