This has got to be the ugliest mushroom I've ever seen. Its only excuse is that it's an imperfect stage, which means it's immature. Softball-sized mishapen lump of off-white mass aging/bruising light brown, at base of a Douglas-fir snag. No pores, no cap. Just a hint of a stem inside when you cut it open. Soft and crumbly. Drying to brown.
