Original observation #108444 (Mushroom Observer)
Large pale-tan capped Russula. Cap viscid/sticky when wet. Collected in mixed deciduous woods, with no obvious tree association. Pleasant almond smell and mild taste. Spore print is color B-C (cream) according to the Kibby-Fatto scale. Amyloid globose to subglobose spores with sharp spines (up to 1 micron tall) with some connectivity between spines. 20 spore average of 7.1 x 6.2 microns, Qm = 1.14.
