Abstract: As a preliminary mycoflora of the famous New Jersey Pine Barrens, this checklist names species collected by members of the New Jersey Mycological Assoc. at the Franklin Parker Preserve, Chatsworth, under the leadership of John and Nina Burkhardt over a period of four years from 2009-2013. The Preserve contains approximately 5,000 acres of wetlands habitat and 4,400 acres of upland pine-oak forest. It adjoins about 250,000 acres of public conservation land encompassing five state-owned properties: Brendan Byrne State Forest, Wharton State Forest, Bass River State Forest, Greenwood Wildlife Management Area, and Penn State Forest. The mycoflora will eventually include collections from throughout the neighboring tracts as well as the greater Pine Barrens and its many outliers. Unique locales include an other-worldly expanse of pygmy pitch pine and black oak near Warren Grove, and, at the other end of the height scale, acres of towering Atlantic white cedar trees at Double Trouble State Park.
