Sydowia 2: 72 (Protologue)
Stroma valsoid, corticolus, innate-erumpent. Perithecia (3-4), globose or sub-globose, 360-390 µ in diameter; black; convergent, ostiole short, opening on the surface; wall 10-45 µ thick,  parenchymatous. Asci 18.5 × 90 µ, cylindric-clavate, base attenuated into a long stalk,  polyporous;  spores 2.5-2.8 × 7.5-9.5 µ, 1-celled, allantoid,  yellowish-brown. Paraphyses filiform, hyaline.

HOLOTYPE: Found on dead branches of Morus albus L., Shahdara, Lahore. 1948-02-14. S.A. Lodhi 2251.

The species is close to Valsella minima Niessl but differs in the size of the perithecia and the asci.
