Calostoma lutescens (Schw.) Burnap.
Sporebearing portion of the fruiting-body subglobose with a long, thick, stem-like base 6 cm. or less in height. Outer peridium double; the outer layer gelatinous, the inner one thin, yellow, deciduous, breaking into irregular segments which curl backward and form a collar at the base of the inner peridium. Inner peridium smooth, yellowish, thin, hard; mouth raised, red, with 5-8 rays. Gleba membrane bright yellow; spores pale yellow, globose, 5.5-9.3 microns in diameter.
